When I woke up that morning I knew something bad was going to happen...I could feel it deep inside me. I remember saying to Melissa lets go to the beach today, she immediately said sure and off we went. Later that day we were driving home and my cell phone started ringing and I was scared to answer it...I knew it was bad news. When I saw it was my Step-Mom calling...I quickly thought maybe Im wrong maybe my intuition is off...although my gut feelings have never been wrong...maybe this time after all I had just spoken to him the other day and he only had a cold. A cold. I asked him please have Nettie take you to the Doctor, you sound too congested. He said dont worry about me, Ill be fine. But you werent...you woke that morning having difficulty breathing and Nettie called for the ambulance. She neglected to tell the paramedics of your heart condition and they took you to the wrong hospital...how could she not tell them? After arriving at the wrong hospital they quickly realized that you needed to go to the Hospital with the cardiac unit...so they turned the ambulance around and rushed you to the other side of town. You died on the way. That was 10 years ago today Dad...and Ive missed you every single day since the moment you left me. Recently, I was at Cassadaga with a friend and you sent me a message...a message that only I could understand...you said that you just didnt want to leave looking at those ugly colored walls and it was no ones fault. You see the cardiac unit were my Dad was a frequent flyer had some really ugly colored walls. Thank you so much for the message Dad, it lightened my heart but then you always did know how to make me feel better and how to put a smile on my face. I try everyday to live life the way you taught me and I hope one day I can be the person you hoped I would be. I love you now and forever Dad...until the end of time. Your loving daughter, Penny
