When I woke up to the trailer park antics of JPSB members Floyd - TopicsExpress

When I woke up to the trailer park antics of JPSB members Floyd and Delesdernier on the front page of the print edition of The New Orleans Advocate, my first reaction was two politicians with no class. Then I read the backstory on why these two dont get along: _At that meeting, the board was briefed in executive session about potential legal issues surrounding the conversion of Woodmere Elementary School into a charter school because of poor academic performance. Floyd opposed that move, both in public discussion after the executive session and earlier in an apparently explosive argument that got so loud it could be heard by members of the audience in a different room._ It makes a lot more sense to me. Mark Delesdernier is a coward masquerading as an elected official. Rather than do what has to be done to fix these schools, these TeaBilly types would sooner privatize the school, so they can blame a private corporation for the schools poor performance. Hell no doubt throw the charter operators under the bus when the school continues to fail. And make no doubt, the school will continue to be substandard, because these cowards wont commit to, you know, FIXING THE SCHOOL. Principals not performing? Teachers arent performing? Re-assign them. Fire them if necessary. Physical plant needs work? SPEND THE MONEY. School programs need better funding? FIND THE MONEY. Hard work. Hard decisions. And those decisions are being dodged by cowards.
