When Ive knocked 100K words (scant 300 pages, 2nd half of WWII - TopicsExpress

When Ive knocked 100K words (scant 300 pages, 2nd half of WWII book) down to about 1/2 that, Ill be around more. In the meantime, wondering how the Japanese implemented the no unsealed radios policy. Any Malaysian knows the illegal radio stories. But the transition I dont (yet) have info for, although do know enough to make up a reasonable guess. So, one day everyone is clustered about the radio, tuned to BBC, or Delhi, or Singapore, next day, Japanese are there and soon (how soon?) these radios are illegal, and only radios that are sealed, ie. capacitors fixed so they cant be tuned but are set only on the official Japanese broadcast frequency. Did the Japanese go house to house and confiscate/break/... the radios and force people to buy new, sealed ones? Did they have authorized centers where people had to take their radios to be sealed? Did they make the announcement about radios being illegal over radio, via posted flyers, loudspeaker vans, through interim town councils, or some combination of these? Also, when did all this happen? The day they moved into a town, in the first week/month/... I already have the info about detecting illegal frequencies, and the rebroadcast/leak problem with the homemade radios of the time. The open question doesnt matter, but its just a small curiosity. If anyone knows a story...
