When a government amends its constitution without a constitutionally required legislative vote and national referendum, the action should be ruled unconstitutional. This is what the Abe administration has just done. By this action the government has scrapped the pacifist constitution that the Japanese people have come to love. There is nothing in the constitution that disallows a future government to undo a previous governments decision that it believes is against the will of the people. I do hope there will be future leaders who will listen to the people and undo what the Abe administration has done unconstitutionally.
