When at school, I studied Alevel history (English and European history circa 1485 through Cromwellian attrocities), never would I have described myself as a couch anarchist. Probably because I wasnt. Yet thinking on it today, I did probably & still do espouse the merits of Lutheranism, even though I no way consider myself as Religious. At the time, every bstard was giving it...you gotta think this, think that ...but no hows ur father! Similar sentiments given by Hazel, PE teacher at the College: No smoking! No Drinking, No Women! Just Boxing Training! Myself? I was reading The Mustard Seed by Sri Rajneesh, full of teenage rebellion yet inspired by the sounds that came out of my guit-box and enthralled by new joyous feelings of Live performance with my band in Bristol music venues. I was able to identify with something I heard Sting later comment, long before, something along the lines of ...it dont matter whether youre playing to 10,000 at Madison Square Gardens or just playing in your bedsit, to the cat, the feeling is Magic! (...And I knew if I had my chance, that I could make those people dance - and maybe theyd be happy ...for a while). And for sure, the feeling you get when folks dance to your music, live is fantastic! So anyway, I strung a song together in honour of Marty Luther (and my own feelings about being instructed what to think and believe) called Here I Stand.! Must revive it sometime! amazon.co.uk/Astonishing-The-Gods-Ben-Okri/dp/0753808641
