When dealing with religious bullies, you are up against the big - TopicsExpress

When dealing with religious bullies, you are up against the big boys. They buy some media houses and your friends. It gets devious and ugly. Moms are so insecure about their children that they really believe they can be intimidated. I have more faith in Christian people than Christian people have in themselves. I might be naive but I am seriously not intimidated by the threats and have faith in humanity. Call me a fool. Bring back old values and teach your child not to be bullied or to feel intimidated. Oops sorry you have to teach yourself first, because you are so busy running away instead of standing up against segregation and indoctrination. If you wondering why this always comes up it is because the stories are flowing in. Yesterday I listened to a saddened gran’s story where her beautiful daughter was battling financially and ended up with a controlling Christian guy. She gave her grandchildren a book about alternative health and her daughter who was once a free thinker was forced to give it back or burn it. For me that is abuse, religious abuse and it saddened me, but at the same time gave me pluck to continue. Even if I remove my child I will continue fighting against this injustice. I will not divulge details, but she is a well known Plett local. Then I went to buy some groceries and this lady told me she went to Sunday school and her daughter was standing outside the class. She asked her daughter why she is not in the class and the child replied she did not know. She asked the teacher and the teacher said, “Your child called me a liar.” The mom was horrified and asked why. She said the teacher said that Jesus would be very angry with her because she did not do her homework. Last week she said, “Jesus was forgiving, so she is a liar.” I can relate to how children take things so literally or just the way they are. Their innocence overwhelms me. So I was obviously completed impressed with the child and laughed and asked the mom what did she do. She said the teacher was young and unqualified and dealing with her own issues so she was nice, but never sent her child back. There are endless stories about divorced people being rejected, people not being buried because they didn’t have funds to pay the minister, etc. So the only thing on my mind, are YOUR STORIES! These stories are not fairy tales or fiction for the horror section of the library; they are stories being told by people in OUR community. I spoke to a psychologist when a kid blew bubbles into Dhiya’s eyes because she did not know what she is and the immediate response from a trained professional was that I have a chip on my shoulder and children do not learn segregation from their parents. If she gave me an ear, I could have told her that her mom also told her child not join my child. So if a professional lets you down, there is not much hope, but even they need the money from Christian parents. So that is my irrelevant story because I am just the minority.
