When does a person stop being his brothers keeper? If you continue to enable someone by doing everything for them, never making them hold responsibility for themselves, are you then obligated till the day you die to take care of them? For instance: You give a needy person a place they can call their own, you supply all the necessities, you give them the plants to start a vegetable garden, you supply the roof over their head, the resources to start taking care of themselves. All for free! You then find that the plants were never planted, the house was never cared for, the bills were not kept up. Everything you did was not enough, because you discover that this person you tried so hard to help has now become the one with the biggest knife in your back. Everything you had done is water under the bridge because in the opinion of a few your did not do enough. Is it our "job" to assure everyone has a roof, clothing and food to eat if they do nothing to assure themselves of the same?
