When ever I think of iconic items of total britishness , there are very few things that spring to mind , like the old telephone boxes , , slowly slipping into our history , who can forget the circular dials , making that unmistakable wurring sound as they sprung back to the place after dailing , ,each and every number , I remember being trapped inside the red telephone box on pedder street after my brother told me to go inside then booted the door thus wedging me on the inside looking all forlorn , through the grubby scratched glass on the panes , also another thing I used to do , whilst making calls ,was sit with my legs up against the sides ,up at quite a high level .... and who can forget taking a large handful of 2p, s with them ,and trying to force them into the slot making a real racket at the same time , listening to the coin dropping right down inside the long body of the phone .... and that annoying moment , when you d go into one of these things ,and someone had wedged a coin in the slot ,soyou were nt making the call after all .... so after taking this image I ve decided , na give me my mobile ,anyday ......
