When making coffee this morning, I ran out of ground coffee. I - TopicsExpress

When making coffee this morning, I ran out of ground coffee. I had the beans but no way to grind them up. My brilliant idea of putting the beans in the coffee maker not ground up did not really work...yes desperate times call for desperate, irrational measures. And that got me thinking...yes this is turning spiritual and to God. In many ways, there is spiritual truth here. Coffee beans can not make coffee until they are ground up into much smaller pieces. In the same way, the Bible teaches that we need to be ground up spiritually to be make into something beautiful, a sweet aroma in Gods sight. God wants to take our hard hearts, which is likened to hard soil where nothing grows (think hard coffee bean now), and plow it up and loosen it up until He can grow inside us. That can not happen if we are not pliable and moldable in his hands. Think of pride as the full coffee bean and humility as the bean ground in Gods blender of love. Coffee beans are not useful until properly prepared. We are not useful to God until we are probably prepared for His service.
