When my children were young, this day was always a fun day, April Fools Day. We would plan a big surprise to fool daddy when he returned home from work. We did things like serving him spaghetti and meatballs that we had made from icing, strawberry sauce and chocolate balls. Of course to him, he knew something was up when he saw his dinner and played along, but to the kids...it looked just like spaghetti and meatballs. They would watch intently as he took his first bite and he would have the most surprised look on his face and we all would just laugh and laugh. There were a few April Fools that Arnold wasnt in town so I planned a crazy dinner for them. Once we did a progressive backwards dinner, starting with dessert at one restaurant and then moving on to the next restaurant for the main course then on to the appetizer. Those were fun days! Lots of great memories. Wish I had just a little bit of that sweet laughter bottled up to use on days like today! Mommas of younguns! Let your housework go once in a while and just spend some silly time with your kids, laugh ALOT, make messes and make memories, the days slip through your fingers before you know it, and this sadly, is no April fools. :)
