When my kids were little some of my friends thought I was too strict not letting my kids wear the cute - but flame retardant - pajamas their kids were wearing. Sigh...We mommas can be mercilessly judgmental of each other. When one of us does something different we often take is as a judgment on our parenting -- and we judge back. Girls -- weve gotta just learn from each other and send out our support! Being a momma is hard enough without us making it harder for each other! Anyway, my kids werent too happy about it, either. But I stuck to my convictions because I value healthy and environmentally sustainable over peoples opinions of me --and cute pajamas. Recently, one of my daughters, now 26 years old, thanked me for not exposing her to unnecessary toxins (shes a foodie yoga teacher). Ah, yes, it all comes around and works out just fine...
