When my parents moved to Florida in the 80s, it was miraculously lucky that they moved to St. Petersburg, instead of some backwater area. Florida has some of the worst public education in the nation, but not Pinellas County. I went to this highschool, Center for Advanced Technologies. Prior to that, the MEGSSS (Mathematics Education for. Gifted Secondary School Students). And prior to that, Ridgecrest Elementary School and the Center for Gifted Studies. And prior to that, Ridgecrest would host us one day per week while I went to Southern Oak Elementary. Thanks, public schools of Pinellas County! Miraculously lucky, because we were poor as shit after my father got laid off shortly after I was born. Private schooling was out of the question. downtownstpete.ilovetheburg/article/A-St-Pete-High-School-is-One-of-the-Best-in-Country/2365
