When one travel the world and see how others do things, he becomes dump folded considering how we do things in Nigeria. The picture below is just of a Medium Private Hospital at India. What are the Nigerian Riches doing that they cannot invest in state of the art facilities that will impact positively on the welfare of our people? In the case of the health sector, what is the government doing to dissolve the occult in medical practice particularly with Nigerian Doctors who feel and behave too pompous to make our hospitals more responsive to patients needs. Cant we see the huge foreign exchange we are wasting (with me inclusive, as Im in India this moment) in search of medical treatment abroad? I think it is time our Rich hugely invest in our health sector, it is time the government review our laws and guidelines for medical practice in Nigeria. Doctors practising in public hospital should not, even on part time basis own or practice in any other facility. All hospitals (public or private) should be free to recruit Doctor from anywhere in the world until medical training is no longer a cultism in Nigeria. No Doctor in our Teaching Hospitals should own or practice outside the T. H. he is working. Salaries of all professionals in the country to be legislated by National Assembly etc. These are suggestions I believe can help the professional services have human face in the country. The suggestions are conceived hurriedly and are amenable to modifications and they are not exhaustive. Also any medical practitioner that is not comfortable with my description of their profession as an occult, I clearly state here that I owe him no apology. If Im required, I will explain myself. In any case, the RICH from the North should know that it is time they begin to consider these options as VERY SOON THERE WILL BE NO OIL MONEY FOR THEM TO SWIM IN. WE THE POOR KNOW THAT LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT. WITH OR WITHOUT OIL MONEY, WE SHALL PROSPER IN AREWA REPUBLIC of AFRICA.
