When people protest government, outsiders looking in always - TopicsExpress

When people protest government, outsiders looking in always wonder: is this good or bad? What do the protestors believe? What are they asking for? But really, all these questions are beside the point. These protests - whether Turkey, Brazil, or wherever - all point to a persistent truth: all states are unviable and fragile because they take from society more than they give back. This reality tends to annoy people. The injustice of it all sometimes boils over and people have the temerity to object and demand change. This is entirely reasonable, regardless of the specifics of the demands. An enlightened people are always a revolutionary people.
