When people say I could never foster it would be too hard .... I just cant comprehend why ... Why is it so hard to save a life ... make them a part of your family , love them, train them (well try too ) and than find them a family that loves them hopefully more than you do .Why is that not the most awesome feeling .. .. Maybelline was close to being PTS ... An over crowded shelter ... a big dog ... no manners , heartworm positive ... But when my husband Mark Pallito was down in Tennessee and stopped at the shelter she and the staff knew he was her ticket out .. so she charmed him and the next thing I knew I was getting photos of his co pilot as the ventured back to Jersey ... That was May and when our journey started ... It wasnt easy ... We found she wasnt a fan of many dogs including Shelby .... She thought jumping on the counters was acceptable --it wasnt...And we had to nurse her through heartworm treatments .. Than things changed ... She listened ... She learned .... She gave Shelby respect and she loved .... Maybelline was turning into an amazing dog ..We watched her blossom when she meet her first love Pro who patiently waited two hours for her to finally learn that he was there to be her friend , Jennifer McGraw Harris and I would watch in amazement how she finally knew it was fun to have other dogs around ... Than we saw her accept transport days and would be there to greet the new dogs and puppies that would come in to FOWA .... She finally new what a family was all about .. She snuggled in bed at night , hung on the deck in the summer ... and would be the first on the couch to watch Hallmark movies.. OK I was first but she was a close second ... .... It was time for her to find a family .... Everyone thought it would be us and I have to admit after 6 1/2 months we thought maybe she should stay too .... Than it happened the application you dream of ... The family that fell in love with a picture , crawled on the floor with her giving her kisses and promising if they got her she would be loved forever .. How could we not give her this chance and in turn we could save another ...Surprisingly with no tears .. and lets be real we all know that is not easy for me... I am happy to say Maybelline has been adopted by Ivis Gonzalez and her family ...I am grateful that Fowa Rescue was able to help a dog with expensive medical needs .... and I am over the top happy that Maybelline is where she should be ... forever wanted , forever loved ... I am also feeling blessed that her family has accepted me and FOWA into their family .. .They promise updates and photos and we hope to see them at events .Maybelline has the life I want every dog to have ..... So when you say I cant foster let Maybelline convince you why you should .... You will be forever in my heart sweet girl ... We taught each other so much and I will forever be grateful we had the opportunity to give you this chance ...The road was definitely bumpybut its a journey I will never regret
