When someone describes themselves as suffering from near crippling depression and anxiety... unless you also have it, or have lived with a loved one who does... you have NO clue what it means. Near Crippling doesnt really begin to describe it. Worse, it doesnt just do a number on the patient... it spreads the suffering out, through everyone who loves them, which makes them feel even worse. This is how my wife survives (depression and anxiety). Shes not as horrible as she thinks she is... or horrible at all... but even if she were, Id love her anyway. I occasionally have to vigorously batter her about the head and torso with the I love you anyway, no matter what fungo bat... but it usually eventually does the trick.
