When someone takes the law into their own hands....they typically are not dealing with law but rather justice, such as a kind of lesson revenge. So the catch phrase No one is above the LAW was invented to scold such an individual. This also is not true. Rather it should be stated, The Law is not above everyone The law is not a person, God, diety or conscienceness that needs to be satisfied. Laws that are absolute cannot always be fair and so they should be considered guide lines of a high order subject to interpretation and over ruling by judges or juries. There are over 40 thousand people serving life sentences for relatively minor offences because of a law that is unjust in some situations. Life in prison is not the solution for these people. Counseling is, or church or both.
