When the Arab Spring started I, like the rest of the world looked forward to an arab rennaisance where democracy, secularism and human rights wud replace fundamentalism, despotism and cruelty. Alas, after three years of revolution, bloodshed nd anarchy what do we have ? In Tunisia there is no stable govt. Libya is controlled by militias and there is no effective govt. In Iraq & Syria we have a civil war between Shias nd Sunnis tht has claimed more than a lac lives. Finally in Egypt, where it all started (Tahreer Square), we have an election in which the faviourite party expected to come to power is the army. How many more must die in the middle east before the ideals of Life, Liberty, Equality, Prosperity & Fraternity can be established, I wonder ?? hmmm...
