When the UNCLEAN SPIRIT is gone out of a man, he walks thru dry - TopicsExpress

When the UNCLEAN SPIRIT is gone out of a man, he walks thru dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he says, I will return into my house I came out; and when he is come, he finds it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goes he and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first (Matthew 12:43-45) Too often when this scripture is preached, taught and mentioned, it’s usually used in reference to devils and demons occupying a person. But the same principle applies to SIN – for it too is an UNCLEAN SPIRIT. When SIN leaves you at conversion, you have no idea where it goes. But like God told Cain, “SIN lies at the door” (Genesis 4:7). Meaning that it’s walking in dry (unfulfilled) places having no rest and, should you open the door to it, it WILL return, and it never returns alone but brings various other SINS back with it. Of course, the result of which is that you become far worse than you ever were! But if you keep Christ abiding in you, His Holy Spirit will occupy all the empty places, and there will be no room available for any SIN/UNCLEAN SPIRIT to dwell.
