When the international insurance industry wants action on climate change because it is having an impact on the bottom line we may get an appropriate response from government and industry. Unfortunately it is only because premiums are going to go through the roof for all businesses that we will we get action, not because of strategic foresight based on a rational assessment of scientific evidence . Would have been nice if they realised this 20 years ago and acted in the best interests of shareholders.
