“When the storms of life are raging stand by me. When the storms of life are raging stand by me, Oh Lord. When the world is tossing me like a ship out on the sea. Thou who rules the wind and the water stand by me.” This morning Heavenly Father, we come to you once more and again, because we need you. Every hour, every minute, of each and every day we need you. We have played God this week. We have made our own plans, done what we wanted to do, intervened into other people’s lives, and not even considered for one moment what your will might be for our lives. Forgive us Lord, for trying to take matters into our own hands. Trying to control things, and run things that we have no power to control. We have messed up our lives and the lives of those around us. Please forgive us of our arrogance, our pride, our haughtiness, our selfishness, and every sin and transgression that we have committed. Now we stand before you cleansed by the blood of the crucified Lamb. Jesus Christ our Lord. We are free now to worship, and to praise your holy name. Thank you Father. Our government needs you. We pray for our president this morning and his family. Our senators and congressmen; our governors, mayors, state officials, and all those whom you have placed in authority over us. We do so today because your word says that we should. Now Lord you step in, and show them that you are in charge, and that you are in control. That people are not the sustainer of the government, but that you have ordained it, and they have no power other than what you are willing to give. Be their sustainer, provider, and all sufficiency. Meet their needs and make a way for them out of this man made debacle. We trust you to do it Lord, and that right away. Heal the land Father, the anger, the hatred, the bigotry, the racism, the prejudice, the animosity. Help us to discern the times in which we live and that we are drawing closer to that day that day when all of us must stand before your throne and give an account of what we have done whether it be good or bad. Time is winding up, and when you say the word, and when the trumpet sounds, you will send Jesus. Just like you promised Father, just like you said you would. Until then help us not to be weary in well doing. Help us to stay focused, encouraged, and faithful. Help us to take every opportunity to do what is right, and to treat each other with love, and respect. In doing so, we honor your name and your Kingdom, until it comes on earth. Bless your name Father. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
