When there is darkness I shall lay my head underneath the oak and pine trees, blankets formed from leaves of beech and birch, where colours make pupils dilate and lungs fill with the air they breathe. Surrounded by creatures of the night and a single owl to look out for trespassers, I rest my eyes and free my soul, morning awakens the forest, new colours, new sounds and the leaves dance in the wind, feet in earth and hands on bark I share my first breath with nature and allow my heart to dance within roots and through its fallen leaves my body entwined into this world
