When they came to Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the church and the apostles and the elders, and they declared all that God had done with them. But some believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees rose up, and said, “It is necessary to circumcise them, and to charge them to keep the law of Moses.” (Acts 15:4-5) Sometimes we get so hung up on what we have been done and taught that we are blind to the new works of God. Some of us think that raising our hands in Church is not to be done; others think that the only way to pray is with open hands. Some think that the only proper way to receive the Eucharist is to kneel before the priest and have him place It on the tongue. Others think that is old fashioned and take Jesus in their hands. External things are meant to bring us closer to God, not to divide us. The Father knows our hearts and that is what matters to Him the most. Don’t get hung up on the externals, but focus on what really matters: your love for the Father,
