When was the last time a Democrat drug one of us over the coals - TopicsExpress

When was the last time a Democrat drug one of us over the coals and we fought back with an alternative rather than just another negative comment? No doubt a lot of folks want us to fight back by using the same tactics the Democrats do, and to be very frank, I oftentimes do as well. Unfortunately, that hasn’t worked to date, and, just as unfortunate, it isn’t going to either. Lets start showing the Iowa voters that Conservatives are above all that. Sure, we’ll tell the truth, and hold our opponents accountable for what they’ve said and done, but at the same time let’s take those Democrat negatives and turn them into conservative positives and go on offense rather than play defense all the time. If were to grow this party and win ‘General Elections’ we have to provide answers to problems that people discuss around their kitchen tables, not just trade barbs with those that couldn’t articulate a clear and concise solution even if we handed it to them. Sure, campaigning on negatives works for some, but if it was so all fired good, why aren’t we winning ‘General’ elections? Simply being a member of the party that is opposite of the one that’s no longer in good graces with the electorate, is no longer good enough, as those ultimately making the final decision couldn’t care less. What they want is answers, not rhetoric, and if you don’t have them, they don’t care how popular you are to your base, they’re staying home, and because there are more Democrats then there are Republicans we fall short of victory simply by default. Let’s take Social Security for example. The Democrats run ads that say we want to hurt the elderly by privatizing it. Our response is to go on defense and say that’s simply not true. Instead, why aren’t we offering an alternative to how the Democrats and others have robbed from that program for decades, and offer solutions such as putting the 12.2% unemployed and underemployed back to work earning an average across the board salary of $50K p/yr. that contributes more than $186 billion ‘back’ into the system. And how do we do that? We can begin by reducing corporate taxes from 39% to 15% and empower employers with $235 billion dollars of their own money creating more than 6 million new jobs. We can reduce personal taxes from 20% to 14%, and empower the wage earner with more than $120 a month of their hard earned money that otherwise would have gone to the government, and we can begin reducing the size the size of government by reducing the average government salary from $100k p/yr to $85K p/yr while at the same reducing the government work force by a mere 25% saving the tax payer $1.2 trillion dollars. If we’re ever going to begin winning elections again, we simply must offer something rather than someone as an alternative. I believe we can, and I believe we will. November’s right around the corner and our candidates still have time. Let’s insist they put it to good use!
