When we become acquainted with someone and something seems a little off, things just dont really add up and that person seems greater than they should be, remember that a Wolf in sheeps clothing (Someone who hides malicious intent under the guise of kindliness) is an idiom of Biblical origin. It is used of those playing a role contrary to their real character, with whom contact is dangerous; the moral drawn from this is that ones basic nature eventually betrays itself. The cautionary advice that one cannot necessarily trust someone who appears kind and friendly.
