When we practice biblical meditation not only will we learn more about God, joy will return to our bible reading. Too often I have read my bible in a legalistic sort of way; thinking that reading the scriptures is a indicator of holiness. No wonder it became a chore! All works of the flesh will eventually. Reading the bible is not a indicator of holiness but it is a means to holiness. Let me explain. If I want to go to the mall I cant just sit in my house and hope that the mall shows up in my yard. I have to go to where the mall is! Its no different with God. If I want to grow spiritually, I must go where God is. God can be found in His word, in meditation and in prayer. The act of going isnt what makes me holy, its the changes that God makes in me once I have put myself in position to receive that makes me holy. I see biblical meditation as a pipe that allows God to flow thru and me to change me into His likeness. How do you see biblical meditation?
