When we pulled into the little hideaway off the road (1) we - TopicsExpress

When we pulled into the little hideaway off the road (1) we spotted a scrub turkey hanging out at the fire place area looking for scraps.(2) The climb is quite steep down the bank of the river & is a one stop recovery break to get breath back, climbing back up. The first thing i noticed was the scars of the floods with all the timber in the river, yet this timber is where all the critters live & hide in, as we found out after crossing creek & walking up on the bank when a large Eastern Water Dragon lizard took off not far in front of that was sitting in weeds, it took off across the creek & into some logs on the other side of the creek, unfortunately i did not have the camera ready. But the bird life like to sit in the sun, or use these thing to fish from, also to bathe from The banks around the new bridge had been planted with native trees & shrubs, there is bamboo stakes in the ground next to them. I guess this is done upstream to help hold the river bank together in the future around the base of the bridge & i am not sure whether other open area on other side of creek is planted or not as was washed out more on that side. I can suss it out next time.
