When we talk about undue influence, mind control, thought reform...and the like, we are talking about a spectrum/sphere of influence. Some individuals are drawn to groups that appear a bit more tangible (Scientology, Moonies, Krishnas and other religious based groups) that may incorporate bricks and mortar structures where they congregate. Also on this spectrum are smaller/splinter groups or individual influences. Sometimes, this is distringuisable in words, brief snippets of sentences or an ideology. With radicalization (yes, this is mind control as well) in the forefront of our lives in todays world...we are implored to listen carefully to the ideals of others and not just fluff them over but pay mind to whether they could be part of a movement that is not your old-fashioned ...live in a commune cult variety. We (all of us) need to be extremely careful with what we become enamored with: spirituality, psychics, astrology, self-help, yoga, psychology related learning. Are all of these little interests bad? Not necessarily...it is the degree of involvement and the pyramid of enmeshment that you need to be wary of.
