When will we begin to see through these so called men of God or pastors? It appears that no matter what they do we have all sorts of excuses to justify their excesses. Despite Jesus constant preaching that material things should not be our focus if we want to seek the face of God, we still justify pastors enriching themselves at the expense of poor people who will pay their last penny in the name of tithes while the pastors live large and fly around in private jets. Three recent events have been sufficient for us to ask ourselves crucial questions but instead of doing so we continue the repetition of that infamous phrase touch not my anointed! Chris Oyakhilome allegedly had an affair but instead of begging his wife and securing her forgiveness he goes to the press with all sorts of nasty allegations and comments against her. What kind of man of God does that? As if that is not enough hundreds die in TB Joshuas synagogue (which he failed to prophesy) and instead of taking responsibility for an obviously badly constructed building, he blames it on a plane that only he saw. Most people in Lagos who have seen that building know it was already tilting as a result of various additions to the original structure. It was a matter of time before it came tumbling down. And by the way how did he manage to be away when it happened? Did he know it was going to happen that day? What kind of man of God puts his congregation at risk? And finally Oritsejafor ends up in a scandal of gun running and money laundering. My question is this; if he rents out his plane for a fee, how come he is still not paying tax? Surely that is an income that should attract taxes. I dont even want to get into the gun running and money laundering; his explanations hold absolutely no water. Let me just ask about the avoided taxes that could have helped to build hospitals, schools e.t.c. Instead of paying taxes he buys a fleet of private jets and lives large at the expense of his congregation. Pray tell what kind of man of God does that? Many will come with that worn out phrase, touch not my anointed to justify these ungodly acts and they will throw out all sorts of misinterpreted passages from the Bible to back up their claims. Anyone who is prepared to face the truth will accept that none of these things align with Gods will. It does not matter what lies they tell themselves, God is watching everyone and in His own time He will react!
