When will we learn? From what I am seeing M.V.LADY MIGNON is a flat-bottomed boat designed for use on rivers, it got no bilge keels. Keels provide extra stability by providing a weight low enough to significantly lower the center of gravity. The keel has two main functions: to keep the boat from being blown sideways in the wind (lateral resistance) and to hold the ballast. The ballast is a weight traditionally at the bottom of the keel that keeps the boat right-side up The Christina was a river boat, get what Im saying? That boat should not have been license to carry the kind of cargo I saw it carrying, or if they want to take a chance only sail in real calm waters, that accident was inevitable, the boat need depth/keel to prevent a roll over like that. speaking from experience. Thank God all is okay...
