“When you are in the final days of your life, what will you - TopicsExpress

“When you are in the final days of your life, what will you want? Will you hug that college degree in the walnut frame? Will you ask to be carried to the garage so you can sit in your car? Will you find comfort in rereading your financial statement? Of course not. What will matter then will be people. If relationships will matter most then, shouldnt they matter most now? “– Max Lucado Written by Max Lucado, but lived by Larry Stone. As I read his journal and spent time working on next weeks fundraiser with Larry Stone over the last few months I admired how courageously he handled this last journey he was on. It takes a lot of strength to continue being you under the same circumstances that make too many people so bitter and angry they cant enjoy what life is left to them. My aunt passed away last year from Cancer. Her dignity and grace at the end were humbling and inspiring to say the least. And I feel the same about his humor and openness right now. It was generous of him to take us all on the ride with him. So, Rest In Peace my friend. If being a exceptional example of touching hearts and reminding us of what is important in our lives was on your Bucket List, put a check next to that line. And if being a Cancer Survivor was there; put a check on that line too. Because Cancer never beat you. It never took control and it never took your life. It may have ravaged your body, but YOU Survived. And we will miss you
