When you are in the middle of intense spiritual warfares and challenging circumstances it is time to "Look Up To Jesus" and "Come Closer To God" for victory. James 4:7 reminds us to "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you". Effective resistance of the devil comes after the submission to God. I read a story some time ago about a snake being discovered in an aeroplane that was in flight. The person who saw it alerted the pilot; who instructed him not to panic but to watch what the snake was doing and report to him. The pilot with his knowledge that snakes lose their ability to act at great heights immediately flew the plane higher. The person who spotted the snake then reported that it was virtually inactive - allowing it to be contained and the danger averted. This story reminds me that coming closer to God when problems intensify is a way to tapping divine power to overcome. Let us learn to regularly come closer to God and stay in His presence so He can fight our battles for us and give us the victory. Have a blessed and victorious week!
