When you ask the question, Who am I?, you get no answer. There is only silence. This is real answer. -Rafia Source: I Love Sufism Facebook Every world religion has come into existence to help us answer this same key question, Who am I ? If you ask a Sufi Mystic , he or she gives you no answer as the best answer of all answers because this question raised can prompt many different responses. Silence is the best answer. Answer to Who I am? has an no answer . No answer implies that the answer can not be spoken or expressed by words or language. As a result, no answer is the real answer. Who am ? is a mystical question on the Ultimate Reality of what a human personality is. If you ask a God theologian what a human personality is, he or she would reply thus, A human being is a perfect image of God. Since God cannot be described, therefore its image is also ineffable or unspeakable. If you would ask a Hindu Mystic , his or her response would be , Not this not that (Neti neti) . Neither this nor that implies that the question is unanswerable. If you were to raise this question to Sakyamuni Buddha or layman Bodhisattva Vimalakirti , both of them would definitely respond with a golden Silence. Silence is no response. Silence is qualified with the adjective golden to indicate that Silence is a golden Truth of what we really are. What we really are is Truth that cannot be defined accurately. Truth is not a concept. A non-concept is an experience that cannot be defined. Yet it is real experience of the Real. All religions shepherd humankind to take internal refuge in the Silence of the Mind , the inner Peace within or the inner Heart Core of everyone of us. Our common Real Home is the Silence in everyone of us. This Silence has been designated with many different names , such as Brahman, Tao, Chi, Buddha, God and Allah. Therefore, I advise you to abandon religious discrimination against any person who professes an apparently different religion from yours.
