When you ask the question, how can God allow evil in this world? You also need to wrestle with the question, how can God allow goodness in this world? And when you ask both those questions, which you should, a simple, God cannot be loving, or God cannot be good will not suffice. There must be a more complex answer. And unless your answer can aptly deal with both of those issues, then you may not have a worldview or theology coherent with reality. My God? Well, He gives common grace to all men (thanks to Jesus dying providing us even time on the earth), but He is also just, and so allows the harmful actions of mankind to work out to their harm ends. Therefore, God is good, man is harmful to himself and the world, and God provides grace. Now, lets take it one step further and recognize Jesus provides even greater grace through turning from your ways and following Him, so that all harm can be taken care of, and we can be saved for eternity with Him in Heaven.
