When you buy American-made products, you help create jobs in the US, and help minimize the trade deficit... when you buy things from LOCAL SMALL BUSINESS retailers (including restaurants, by the way) more than twice as much of the money you spend stays in your local community, helping to stimulate your local economy. When you shop at Walmart, for example, you encourage manufacturing jobs in CHINA and create additional tax expense for yourself by encouraging the payment of poverty wages and the dependence of employees on government assistance programs... keep in mind that the Waltons together have more money than the bottom 40% of Americans combined... do you want to ENCOURAGE that to get worse, or DISCOURAGE it?
