When you conjecture that your denominational nomenclature, confer - TopicsExpress

When you conjecture that your denominational nomenclature, confer on you theological superiority over others that dont share your faith, you are operating with a narrow confine, that does not represent the universality of God and of Christ. Christ never talked denomination, He spoke about faith in God, and about the Kingdom of God. Among the several task He assigned to His Disciples, setting up of denominations and different churches are not included. Rather He entrusted them with His teachings, and commissioned them, to spread His message throughout the whole world (Matt 28:19&20). He spoke about One Fold, One God, One Father, One Faith, everything One (Ephesians 4:4-6),(John 20:17). He spoke about all who believe becoming one in Him (Galatians 3:27-28), (Colossians 3:11). He talked about seeking the Kingdom of God (Matt 6:33), not about church. True worship is not about identifying with a church, but with Christ. When you identify with Christ, we talk no more about name of churches, we talk faith, love, hope, mercy, forgiveness, goodness, righteousness, and every other thing taught by Christ (John 4:21-24, Galatians 5:22-25). Attempting to consign Christ to the narrow confines of your religious description is a disservice to Him, and to His teaching. Christ taught that love is the identity of His true disciples (John 13:34&35). It is time to say no to those trying to pull a wool over our eyes, by making us see Christ through their myopic and self-serving definitions. Christ is Universal, Christ is Love, and the body of Christ and His true followers are those who do not discriminate, nor seek to identify people by name of church, and name of religious leader. They identify with love, peace, goodness, mercy, forgiveness, humility, temperance, they embody the virtues of Christ, and uphold His teachings. This is our identity, and not the name of a church.
