When you have kids youll understand. When youre married youll understand. When youre my age youll understand. When *insert event or milestone thats passed* then youll understand. No, I understand perfectly fine at this moment in time. I hate when people are condescending like the above examples, its pride mixed with arrogance; You cant possibly understand what I mean until youve gone through it. With somethings this is true, like, God forbid, Ill never be raped or assaulted to the point that it changes the way I physically have to live my life, but there is such a thing called empathy for talking to people who have experienced those things. For stuff like relationships/marriage, having kids, and just general life lessons, there are principles, these never change. I understand many of the principles that govern the above. You dont need to be a certain age or in a relationship to know that to have a long lasting union that you MUST learn to forgive your spouse, its a principle, its non-negotiable, ignore that principle at your peril. You dont need to have lived it to know it. Funnily enough a lot of the first statements come from other Christians and theres something Ive got to say to that. If you cant concede that some people will know more, without needing to experience what you have, then you may as well not follow the Bibles definition of marriage and what it means to be a Godly man or woman. Why? Cause that section, as well as 3/4s of the Bible was written by a single, unmarried man, the apostle Paul. He didnt know what he was talking about did he? /sarcasm.
