When you stop to think about it for a moment, it IS pretty stunning how quickly and how profoundly commercial aviation has changed the human experience of travel. Just three short generations ago my great-grandparents crossed the continent in a horse-drawn wagon, a process that took months of relentless effort. Yet today I can casually stroll aboard a plane, sit in (relative) comfort for a few hours, and be literally anywhere in the world in less than a day. Its a process that we all take completely for granted, but it would have been considered near miraculous only a hundred years ago. I look forward to seeing this film when it comes out.
