When your stiff after your first visit to the gym (why is this by the way) in a while, there are many ways to help ease the pain.. One of the simplest ways is to get nutrients back into the sore muscles again by exercising lightly and above all make sure that you get hydrated and eat meals that are full of live food that are cooked at home if at all possible. If you eat in a work based canteen or restaurant get lots of greens and raw salad.... The most impressive way though folks to progress without thinking too much about a little stiffness is get back into the training the next day or take one day off and exercise again within two days and try to vary the routine. Perhaps the reason why you have not been in the gym for some time is due to it getting boring? Change gym then or check out some other ways to exercise.
