Where bike agility comes from Part 2 of 5 part series… Several items determine this: 1. Center of Gravity – One of the ways to create an agile bike is to lower the center of gravity. If the BB is below the axles on your bike, it will handle better. Moonshines BB is 1/2 below axles at rest with no rider weight – which translates to about a 2-2.5” with built in sag when rider is on it. Thats a low center of gravity... Think of Formula 1 race cars, they are low to the ground, built for speed and handling. Now the trick bike manufacturer’s have is ensuring you don’t bash your cranks on the rocks by lowering the center of gravity too much. Check your bike out, where is your BB in relationship to your axles-above or below? Where is your BB before you sit on bike and then after, where does the sag put you?
