Where is Aregbesolas O RAM ? About this same time last year government propaganda reached the high heaven on O RAM. Government said it has reared several rams for public purchase and at a comparatively low prices at Iwo. Not a few member of the public rushed down there with the hopes and expectations that government rams must be cheaper and affordable. They met the shocks of their lives as price tags met on each of the rams were either twice or thrice the price of same size rams at the open market. People couldnt buy the rams hence, the government decision to freight rams to Lagos as Sallah Gift to their friends and the rest became history. At that time recall I, Ayeniromo Omo Baba Orunogbeke descended so hard on Governor Aregbesola over this infamous programme. I said among others that government have no business in business. I also said government needed not to go into market competition especially with small scale entrepreneurs whose businesses are even seasonal. All that a serious government needed to do was to provided enabling business environment for the people,I said. A government can even assist its citizens by way of loans. I went further to say such policies and programmes are bond to crash and true to my warning the O RAMS, like many of Aregbesolas government programme, has crashed hence,no government rams for sale on this Ileya festivals. The only ones that are available for sales to the public are those purchased from the Northern market by the OSADEC. Good government programmes must be able to live and survive the test of time.
