This is a difficult video to watch. African American man shot in a traffic stop going to get his license as requested by the officer (who has been charged with aggravated assault in the instance). I wonder if the officer would have been charged at all if this video didnt exist? This dashcam video is an eloquent rebuttal to those who claim that African-Americans, especially young African-American men, are treated the same as we white Americans. It would be terrifying for me to think I could be shot in such a casual fashion for simply doing what I was told, or that my son would grow up with this kind of threat constantly hanging over him. I cant even imagine what turned out to be a concrete reality for this young man (who survived, fortunately). All police cars and beat cops should be wearing a camera these days.
