Where is the freedom of speech and expression???? My foot!!! It looks as Europe has double standards. The Islamic Hijab is banned in French public schools but Nuns are allowed to cover their bodies and hair with their traditional tunics. In many European countries (including France) it is illegal to deny publicly that the Holocaust occurred but it is allowed to deny the genocide of other groups of people. Switzerland has banned the construction of minarets for mosques but it is allowed for temples, Church etc. Germany in 1994 banned a musical comedy that ridiculed the Catholic doctrine of the immaculate conception by portraying crucified pigs. Italy has a law that outrage a religion is illegal and it actually has a charge of incitation of inter religious hatred. The Netherlands have very similar laws as do Austria and Poland, France. There are two well known instances where public figures were instantly fired. Both were fired for making anti-Semitic jokes. There was another situation where one cartoonist of Charlie Hebdo was fired because he made a cartoon mocking a ex-French presidents son who converted to Judaism. They claimed that his cartoon was anti-Semitic. Being a Muslim I can say why is it that these specific countries banned offense to certain religions but not for Islam and The Prophet of Islam. Or why is that Charlie Hebdo will gladly make offensive cartoons of Muslims but it has no courage to make offensive cartoons about Jews, where is freedom of speech and expression?. I am sure when Charlie Hebdo will make and publish offensive cartoons of Jews, the Jews and Israel will put whole France to fire. Copied....
