“Where to purchase user product” is by-far our most requested feature. When you think about it, for a fashion community, it is a natural fit. If you see something you like, you want to know where to get it. We spent quite a bit of time working on this - namely how we can identify user photos and look for similar product in stores, their stock availability, getting the best price and figuring out merchants proximity. Yesterday we launched an early version of it on the web. It will be ported to our apps in their upcoming release. The best part about this feature is it enlightens us to launch another feature - our very own revenue sharing program with our users. All the displayed products are affiliate-generated and we will do a 40:60 split with our users on any revenue generated from their closet, 60 being them. These two features also provide extra incentives for user to be more descriptive with their photo. Descriptive title allows us to do better product matching, better matching leads to better conversion which leads to more $$$. Just yesterday our image engine somehow thought that one of our user’s jacket looks like an eiffel tower and went on to suggest eiffel tower lego models for purchase. Fashionistas, this is what you might get when you want us to guess your photo. While you’re busy uploading photos, we’re working hard to keep them displaying perfectly on all platforms and to grow your collective audience. Now you can even monetize them.
