Where to start? It’s been over a week already and the event has taken on all the markings of a dream. Thank you to Itah Sadu and Miguel St. Vincente, proprietors of the irreplaceable bookstore called A Different Booklist. I have written three books and launched all three at this shop. Each time I felt as if I were in the company of family. I hope to come back there time and again if they will have me. Thank you to Michelle Walker and her boo, Gerry Williams for the most unique and unforgettable MC’ing EVER! They created a Santimanitay rhyme to introduce all the readers and yours truly. Michelle has been a fan and an unwavering supporter of my work and it shows! She midwifed these two latest novels and is waiting impatiently for the awakening of the third. Michelle, I enjoyed what you two did at the bookshop. I’ve never seen it done this way before. I think you broke new ground, right? My readers! It is a joy to hear my words from different voices. Naomi Abiola and Kay B. Douglas read from Santimanitay and did it proud! This is the second time Naomi has read for me and despite having to race off to another event, she delivered with her signature panache. Kay! Kay! Nice job girlfriend. Lovely delivery, I expected no less! Thank you! My hecklers – Allison (who doubled as a photo-take-outer), Sistah Afiya (another photo-take-outer), Oswald! These three talk right through, had people laughing or running… what a trio! Y’all kept me in stitches and that is ALWAYS a good thing! Alicia Sealey for taking some memorable shots. Thank you! My family – well I can’t do much without them eh? When they inhale I exhale. So tickled to have them all with me - my sister and her family, my mother. The clan was well represented. Well wishers, supporters. I really ought not to start calling names but as time goes, I bet I will! THANK YOU! All the books are out of my hands now. They are at book shops, Amazon and Barnes and Noble. The e-book is sailing along on Amazon and Barnes and Noble as well as KOBO. I am thrilled, I am humbled, I am determined to keep writing. Yay yay?
