Where were on you on 9/11/2001? I was the IT guy for the Hilton Center City in Charlotte, a job I had gotten against all odds. I was also on inactive reserve from the Air Force. When the first plane hit, we all went into my managers office to watch the news. When I saw the second plane hit, I immediately felt a rock in my stomach...i KNEW it was a terrorist attack (I was still in the shadow of the recent U.S.S. Cole bombing), and that I was going to be called back into active duty and lose my job. Sure enough, I got a letter a few weeks letter that essentially said to keep my uniform pressed. Downtown Charlotte pretty much shut down by 11:00 am that day, and I spent the next few days glued to the TV. Thankfully, I was never called back to duty.
