Wheres Wally going? Nathan Tinkler spotted at Sydney international airport just days before ICAC evidence due Nathan Tinkler, one of the key persons of interest at a corruption inquiry, appears to be about to board an international flight just days before he is due to give evidence. The former coal magnate, who was seen at the international departure lounge at Sydney’s Kingsford Smith airport on Tuesday morning at 9.30am, is due to give evidence on Friday at the Independent Commission Against Corruption. Last year Tinkler, the embattled boganaire from Newcastle, lived up to his nickname when he sent an email to an associate last year saying: Who is ICAC? On receiving the reply, Tinkler responded: Oh mate ur f---ing kidding me? Since then the ICAC has heard allegations that Mr Tinklers Buildev property development group donated $66,000 to a secret Liberal Party slush fund before the March 2011 state election. The money was allegedly used to bankroll Newcastle Liberal MP Tim Owens successful election campaign. Mr Owen announced on Monday that he would not contest the 2015 election and was angry that illegal donations appeared to have been used to fund his campaign without his knowledge. Property developers have been banned from making political donations since 2009.
