Wheres the Love? Many times we become close... but not close enough... we are afraid to open up.. lest our hearts get broken up... so our true thoughts are never spoken up... or should I say spoken out... buried beneath the sands of love... like treasure... the trapped feelings of a lonely heart... that needs to be broken out... and freed from the bondage... of a prison within oneself... true love withheld... lying uselessly upon a forgotten shelf... this is the moment life loses its true meaning... and we become a fraction... less than what we are... and each vulnerable moment becomes a distraction... and we become as distanced as a star... dimming in the twilight... we then foolishly trade in our hearts of gold... and start investing in pyrite... though it does not shine as brightly... it is much easier to attain... requires very little pain... because in reality there is very little gain... just the illusion of a heart steeped in wealth... and a spirit in good health... but wheres the value in that?... I sometime cry when I see the beautiful smiles of those damaged within... too full of life to give up... but not full enough to win... a smile for the outside only... inside lies the spirit of an abandoned child... desperate... wounded... and lonely... afraid of being hurt again... we say God is our friend... but if we truly believe He exists... wouldnt we put away our selfishness?... wouldnt we love unconditionally?... with the courage to love and keep loving?... if God is love...wouldnt you dare to be closer to Him?...
