Wheres the Tea Party? As the turmoil surrounding the Geauga park - TopicsExpress

Wheres the Tea Party? As the turmoil surrounding the Geauga park district rises to fever pitch, the silence of the tea party is deafening. At issue are the fundamentals of democratic republican governance, transparency and accountability. Judge Grendell and the park board have done their level best to suppress dissent and obscure their true agenda. Board meetings have been canceled last minute and rescheduled at inconvenient times on short notice, a direct violation of Ohio Sunshine laws. The judge uses a self-serving interpretation of ORC 1545, the law governing park districts, to expand his discretionary power and influence over park operations when no such clauses specify his authority to do so. The abuse of power, lack of accountability and transparency are core tea party issues, yet they have nothing to say on this matter. Why is that? Because, in spite of their claims, they have no real principles, only ideology. That means they are as political as any partisan group. So long as whats happening is what they want to happen, they dont care how it gets done, even if the process flies in the face of their so-called principles. There is a word for the wide gulf between what they say and what they do. Tony Festa
