While I am all for gay rights, this is ABSOLUTELY THE WRONG WAY TO GO ABOUT IT. First, marriage is not the governments business. Second, and what most people do not think about is that while they let 9 people over rule a majority of citizens, there could come a time when those 9 are different folks and use the same power you granted them here to swing things in the opposite direction. you want this done right? in a few years every state will have voted to allow gay marriage as more and more see that its not the business of the government.
